03/09/2010 – Renault Press Release – X25 Shut Down

After informing its suppliers twice, Renault again confirmed that it is shutting down its X25 connections and switching to the ENX network. Initially scheduled for the end of 2009, the shutdown of X25 exchanges will be effective at the end of June 2010.

Renault used the X25 network for logistics exchanges (EDI) with suppliers connected to CSR. Rather than a “constraint imposed by the manufacturer", Renault wants to let its suppliers know that the X25 network is coming to an end and help motivate them to roll out a replacement solution. In early 2009, Renault set up a specialized team to help its suppliers migrate from X25 to ENX. This team coordinates all Renault stakeholders (including security and EDI).
